Are you passionate about community and helping local organisations thrive? The Steadings Community Management Trust is seeking an enthusiastic and committed Chair of Trustees to lead our Board and help shape the future of our new community at The Steadings in Cirencester. 

The Trust will be responsible for providing, maintaining and running dedicated community facilities and Green Spaces within The Steadings, and also ensuring that all residents feel part of the broader Cirencester Community. 

This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference by providing strategic leadership, supporting fellow trustees, and working alongside our staff and volunteers to ensure the long-term success of the Trust. 

About the Role as Chair of Trustees, you will: 

 Provide leadership to the Board and ensure effective governance. 

 Chair Board meetings and the Annual General Meeting. 

 Support the development of the Trust’s strategic vision and objectives. 

 Work closely with the Management Group and fellow trustees. 

 Act as an ambassador for the Trust within the local community and with partner organisations. 

 Help ensure the Trust remains financially sustainable and continues to deliver high-quality services and activities for the community. 

We Are Looking For Someone Who: 

 Has strong leadership and communication skills. 

 Can inspire and motivate others. 

 Has sound judgement and strategic thinking. 

 Enjoys working collaboratively as part of a team. 

 Is committed to good governance and community development. 

 Previous trustee or board experience. 

Time Commitment The role is voluntary and typically involves: 

 Attending regular Board meetings (4 per year). 

 Attending regular Management Group Meetings ((4 per year). 

 Preparing for meetings and reviewing papers. 

 Providing occasional support and guidance between meetings. 

 Representing the Trust at key events and meetings when appropriate.
