This month we had one of the first opportunities to go out and speak to the people of Cirencester and beyond about the exciting plans for The Steadings Community Management Trust (TSCMT) and its future, at The Phoenix Festival – The Cotswolds only totally free music and arts festival.
It was an incredible atmosphere with people of all ages and families having a fantastic time, and helped to create inspiration for the sense of real community that TSCMT will be building in The Steadings site that will be home to the first residents within the next year. TSCMT had its own stall, where the Trustees had the chance to speak with many people about the community land and buildings that the charity will manage, and gauge opinion on what community services are in greatest need.
The event featured live performances including a Michael Jackson tribute band, as well as the Led Zeppelin tribute band Whole Lotta Led, with a range of food and drink, exhibits, arts and craft.
Comments Clare de Bathe, Chair of the Trustees at TSCMT,
“An event like this reminds us of the importance of creating times and places where the whole community can join together. It was a fantastic atmosphere and a great chance for us to speak to volumes of people about the work that’s to come.”
